Anne Turner Award
The Anne Turner Award for Excellence in Volunteer Management is in honor of a true Clark County volunteer advocate. In addition to years as a DVPA Executive Board member, Anne served on numerous planning committees both local and national, actively promoting and supporting volunteerism. Anne’s tireless dedication brought awareness and enrichment to our community. We dedicate this award to honor current DVPA members that continue her legacy.

2011 Al Flory, YWCA, Clark County
Al Flory and nominator Hiedi Hiatt.
Al Flory has been the Director of Volunteer Development at the YWCA Clark County for the past 16 years. During his years of service to the organization Al has done much to develop the volunteer department. In addition to these developments Al also impresses people with his compassion and integrity. Many people in the agency count his as a mentor and friend.
Al has encouraged the agency to see the true value all volunteers bring to our work. Last fiscal year a total of 712 volunteers contributed a total of 44,449 hours to the YWCA Clark County. The value of those hours equals almost $1 million. That's truly an amazing volunteer administrator who leads that level of volunteer resources.

2011 Kris Henrikson, Teen Talk Clark County
Kris Henrikson and nominator Stephanie Ekhert
Kris Henrikson is a hard working woman who endlessly inspires youth to acheive what most say is unachievable. Kris started Teen Talk, a volunteer based program, almost 10 years ago when she was the nominators foster mother. She explained how Teen Talk was going to be a wonderful outlet to youth who need to talk without feeling like they are being judged.
Teen Talk has grown from a program that got 3 or 4 calls a week to a program that gets more than 10. She personally trains the volunteers in ways that teach kindness and non-judgemental ways to view things. She has made the Teen Talk atmosphere a haven where one can feel safe & can help others feel that way too.
