It is with great sadness that we share that we have decided to disband DVPA, however we recommend joining other nearby organizations. Our current board was not able to continue to support the organization as it deserves. Our funds were donated to Ripple Impact NW to be designated for Volunteer Related Trainings.
We will continue to send out emails of relevance (job openings, trainings and such as they occur). We will continue to request proclamations for National Volunteer Month (April) and invite you to be a part of that at City Council and with the County Commissioners. We will no longer have our annual conference, award or membership dues and meetings. If you have questions or want to remain on the email list, you can email [email protected]
Thank you for your support all these years! We've learned so much together and made many wonderful connections!

Woot! Woot!
National Volunteer Week/Month is April
Typically DVPA hosts and invites all of you to attend all the local city and county proclamations this will continue even though we no longer have monthly meetings.
Presidential Proclamation
(done annually regardless of party or affiliation)
WA Governor Proclamation
(we can email directly to you since it's not online yet)
Some organizations typically do their recognition event during this month. Do what you can to recognize your volunteers: let them know if you have a recognition event planned some time during the year, send out a special newsletter, post your appreciation on social media, and if possible do email (or call) those that you connect with to thank them for making a difference and supporting your cause with their generous gift of time (a most precious gift for humans to share)!
Here's some
interesting facts about volunteerism nationally
(CNN article released just prior to the pandemic).
WA state ranks 17th in the nation for volunteerism
(not too bad out of 50+).
Thanks for recognizing our community supporters....
We are so grateful for their generous hearts!!!
